Its easy to look at a customer service job and say, I just talk to people who yell at me all day long about things that arent my fault but they blame me anyway and to become dejected about the value of your skills, but take a few steps back and look at the things you do without much thought and ask yourself what you can do with that. You plan for predictability as much as you can, and you accept the fact that its not always going to be predictable and that those moments when things like travel happens or an emergency happens, or whatever it is that kind of takes you away from your regular cadence of activity, that those things are temporary. The service owner, who is responsible and accountable for overall performance and acts as the services general manager, has several key responsibilities including deciding and adhering to service-level agreements, obtaining the resources needed to maintain service performance, managing dependencies with other services, and continually evolving the service to meet business needs. I mean, I dont know. You think about the root word of the word inspire its in spirit, like you want to kind of move them forward into something that might not be secure. MURIEL WILKINS: So, you sort of have to proactively look at, well, how much capacity do I actually have? Pro tip: Approach your self-assessment with awareness, curiosity, and a willingness to experiment. Transitioning industries is not an overnight process; it requires time, patience, and resilience. I used to know, hey, if I can bench press this much and run this fast, then that was success. I think thats been a part where its almost like I dont know how much time I have to spend, because Im not really structuring it that well, and so whenever somebody asks for something, Im like, Oh, sure, Ive got the time. Im not realizing like, oh yeah, theres six things that I didnt write into my schedule that I should have, or that were nebulous in themselves and dont really have an easy way to schedule without me just being intentional about it.
