He passed away on May 24, 2022 in St. Charles, Ill. Cholly Naranjo was born Nov. 25, 1934, in La Habana, Cuba and made his major league debut July 8, 1956, with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Beyond his playing days, Clines entered the coaching world, beginning with the Cubs after his retirement in 1979. After retirement, he became a coach for the Salem Avalanche from 2005-07. He finished his professional career in 1981 by playing in the Mexican League. From 2012-14 he was the Special Assistant to the Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations for the Baltimore Orioles.
